Maya McDermott started for the Dragons as a freshman and 15 games into her junior season became the schools 5th player to reach the 1000 point mark. She scored her 1000th point during a win on the road against Dowling. She also became the all time leading scorer in a road game at Dowling on January 24, 2020. Maya ended her career with a state championship and 1,615 total points. Maya earned multiple all-conference, all-district, and all state awards during her career. After both her sophomore and junior seasons Maya was named 1st Team All State and one of the 5 players chosen on the DM Registers Elite CIML team. Maya accepted a scholarship to play Division I basketball for the UNI Panthers.

Lacey was a multiple sport athlete in Johnston earning all-state honors in basketball, volleyball, and softball. Lacey played varsity basketball all 4 years and still ranks in the top 10 on multiple basketball records lists. Lacey (Fulton) teaches and coaches in the Johnston School District.

Taryn Knuth - 1,414 Career Points (2013-2017)
Taryn was a four year starter for both the Dragon basketball and volleyball teams. She played in 3 consecutive state basketball tournaments. Taryn holds numerous basketball records including points in a game when she scored 43 against Ames. She was captain of the All Tournament team during the '15-'16 season in which Johnston was state runner-up. She was twice named 1st Team All State. Taryn was the 2015-16 Class 5A Player of the Year and was the 2016-17 Des Moines Register CIML Player of the Year averaging 22 points and 13 rebounds. Taryn accepted a scholarship to Florida State University to play volleyball.

Rachel earned multiple All-State, All-District, and All-Conference awards throughout her career. Rachel accepted a full scholarship to play basketball at DII Lewis University in Chicago. During her time there the Flyers were a DII powerhouse.

Aili surpassed 1,000 points on Tuesday December 19th, 2023. The Iowa State signee was the 7th Dragon to eclipse the 1000 pt mark and finished her career with 1,258 total points. She earned all state honors all 4 years of her career earning 1st team recognition both her junior and senior seasons. She played in 4 state title games winning 2 state titles and earning all tournament honors 3 times. Aili went on to play basketball at Iowa State University. |

Lori started every varsity game she played in for 4 years earning all-state honors twice, both her junior and senior seasons. Shen went on to play basketball at the Division I level for 3 seasons at the University of Illinois and for 1 season at the University of Maryland. Upon graduating from Maryland she played one season of professional basketball overseas.
